Big brand with a fun and energetic voice is looking for an experienced Perl developer. The company dominates its industry, providing crucial, up-to-the-minute information for millions of people annually. As such, the data it uses for mining, analysis, and manipulation must be reliable and thoroughly clean.
The company uses a LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and Perl) built on an AWS/in-house hybrid. It’s served them well. But the stack will probably change soon; you’ll take a leading role in making that happen, and ideally bringing some experience with large Python, Golang, or Node systems to bear.
You’ll be a super-star developer – someone who regularly gives talks to the community, someone with strong open-source contributions, and somebody who’s going to provide clear-eyed direction to the technical team. You have an ironclad understanding of theory. You’ve got excellent debugging and optimization skills.
The company will pay handsomely for your talent. Handsomely. The office, in central London, is madness. You can work out, get (good) coffee, (good) food, switch work rooms when you need to, and tons more perks. It’s truly designed for making your best work possible – bad days notwithstanding.
I’ve got more details to share if you’re interested. Drop me a line and tell me what kind of work you’re doing now. We can take it from there.
This job is no longer officially open, but see below for how to register your interest in roles like this, and be told as if the company reopens hiring.
