Location, location, location. You hear it all the time in real estate, but it’s equally important in the business world. Co-workers around the globe may sound like fun but when team huddles are set for 5AM because you’re in the wrong time zone, beauty sleep and productivity go out the window.

To keep you daisy-fresh, this Perl role is ideal for folks located in Australia. Think of a dartboard: Melbourne is the bullseye, elsewhere in Australia is triple (still close to the bullseye), and Southeast Asia is the double, or outer ring. Are you on the board? If so, read on.

This wonder-from-down-under company provides end-to-end data collection and management services. They’re the first resource for companies seeking to gather, process, and analyze data to develop the solutions they need to keep business running smoothly. They build, host, and support their clients with a whole heap of tools and technologies, and they’re looking for a Perl developer to join their team.

To rack up the points, you’ll have experience with REST, Dancer2, Catalyst, Moo, DBIx::Class, MySQL, Postgres, and docker. AngularJS or Vue will bring you into bullseye range, so shout it out if this sounds like you. You will share in the team’s desire to be playful with technology and lean in to trying new things. This dynamic group believes that growth comes from failure as much as from success, and they encourage that mindset in each other.

Speaking of team beliefs, this crew operates within a flat structure. Forget the typical hierarchy headaches; all voices are equal and equally heard. Add to that an emphasis on a healthy work-life balance — they offer flexitime for family and study needs — and you’ve got a company that cares about your productivity and your beauty sleep.

Does this sound like a bullseye you can hit? Send us your CV and tell us why!

Why Apply with Perl Careers?

Some of our clients you may already be familiar with, and some you'll have never heard of. But in our opinion, you're always best off applying through Perl Careers. Why?

  • We'll work with you to make sure your CV / résumé is the strongest it can be before we submit it; we know what our clients are looking for, and we'll work with you to make sure your most relevant experience is highlighted;
  • We can chase your application and argue your case in a way that would look pushy if you did it; we have strong relationships with our clients, they trust our advice, and we talk to them very frequently;
  • We have the same interest in getting a great salary as you do; our remuneration is based on a percentage of your starting salary, and we know how much the client is willing to pay -- we do a lot of negotiation behind the scenes.

COVID-19...

It won't shock you to know that we know these are complicated and confusing times, and so do our clients. Bearing that in mind, there'll be a lot of flexibility with how your new role comes together. Whether that means that you start the first few months of your next job working at home, or delay relocating for a new role, we'll work with you and our clients to make sure you can start your next role safetly and in line with health advice.
